Try the following:
1.Use F10 key and load with password in the safe (VGA?) mode.
Change display settings to 256 colors in the Control Panel.
Then restart Windows.
2. Since Win98 isn't autorized system then you can delete spoiled user
with password and create a new one with a new password in the Control
Panel.
Autorized logon in Win98 is needed in the local NET with Win2000/XP
on another PC only!
