If you've had the burner for a while, the problem is not with Nero, it is
the burner itself. Allow me to explain.... I have the exact same burner, and
was running it on a 400mhz Celeron system running WME. First of all, on the
back of the burner on the far left, you will find three sets of two pins.
The burner used to come with a jumper on one set of the pins (third from the
left). Remove that jumper, this will allow the burner to operate in DMA
mode. After you put the burner back in to the case and power up, right click
on "My Computer" and select porperties, this will bring up the Device
Manager. Select CD ROM and double click on the the AOpen CD RW and I dont
remember if it right there on the first section or not, but somewhere in
there, you will find a checkbox to enavble DMA mode.... check that box,
click Apply and then OK and close out the device manager and try burning
again. It should work fine then.

These directions DO NOT apply to XP.... all that is needed to do is remove
the jumper and you are good to go!
