The second is easy. Go to Tools then Startup. Put the name of your
form in the "Display Form" box. The first is more difficult but not
very difficult. It involves writing a bit of VBA code for the
AfterUpdate event of your search text box. I have a form at work that
does this. If no one else has answered your question soon, I'll send
along some more information.
