Hi Venkat,

This situation often comes up if a program or application sets itself to be the default

program. This may not necessarily change the icon that used to open a file or URL.

It looks like the "IE" icon was the shortcut to the default web browser ,rather than being

a shortcut to IE per se.

E.g. Windows Media Player is bad for that too. On occasion it will not release its hold

on a file type and will still show the WMP icon for a file it no longer opens,

but instead is opened in let's say VLC by default.

In that case you'll have to use advanced options in the OpenWith panel.

It's easy to find out what the shortcut points to.

Just right-click the IE icon ,select Properties and check what the target is.

It should point to IE. If it doesn't ,you'll have to edit and correct the path.
