That is the normally hidden paragraph indicator.  I'm not sure how to turn it off, but you can add the symbol to the toolbar and then click it to turn it on or off.  

Right click the toolbar & click Customize.
Its one of the first button images on the View group on the Command Tab

Subject: [PCSOFT] Word Doc problem


All of a sudden, all of my word documents have a strange symbol after the end
of every line A dark mark with two lines, i tried to copy/paste the symbol
but it wouldnt copy. Thankfully it does not appear on printed pages. Help really
appreciated
