I'm wondering if perhaps you have a flat-out deny access to the site or
application in your Program configuration in Zone Alarm, and then when it
can't get to the internet, it times out (like Outlook Express will do when
it has no access to the internet). If I deny Word 2003 access for instance,
it sits there for nearly a minute before it finally pastes part of what I
copied. The timing may be in the application itself that is trying to
access the internet and not in ZoneAlarm. Check your Programs settings in
ZA.

I don't think it's Zone Alarm doing that. I don't see why it would do
that - it
allows or disallows things entering or leaving your computer, per your
instructions.
It doesn't time how long you're on a site, I don't believe. I have had it
quite
awhile now and have had no problems whatsoever.

Many of you are apparently very happy with Zone Alarm. Every time I try it,
there are some problems. In particular, I get timeout on a number of secure
web pages and need to refresh to get them to show up. This happens almost
every other page and is very annoying. Is some setting I have wrong, or is
this the price to pay for security? I do like the product features
otherwise. During installation, I used the default values as recommended by
Zone Alarm.
