I don't know what OS you have or what email program you use, but in W98se
and IE6,click Tools>Options>Read and select the options you want.  Hope this
helps.

how do I get back to having my e mail arrive in bold type before being read
and number of unread messages indicated in the lower left corner of the
screen?  Since restoring the computer all new mail arrives as read.
