Don, I went ahead and formatted again. I just didn't install the IE 7.
Although when I was installing SP 2, on one of those updates there, it had an
update for IE 7, so I unchecked it so I wouldn't update it. (should I update it
anyway?) I don't understand why they would put an update of IE 7 on there
when I didn't install it. I never use IE 7 anyway. Normally I use Firefox or
Netscape, but will download the one you mentioned below. I had found that
ctfmon.exe file in my Cursor folder -- but it's not in here anymore since I
didn't install 7. However, doesn't AOL use Explorer and doesn't SBC/AT&T? So
if one has either of those two servers, then they don't have much of a
choice if they want mail or something, do they? Regardless, I no longer have that
ctfmon.exe. On my spysweeper that I have, it has a thing on there which I
didn't know it had, but if you check this one thing, ( keylogger ) it is to
keep someone from getting in your computer by watching (or however they do that
)--- obtaining your keystrokes to gain entry. Thanks for all your valuable
help. I do appreciate it and all of these news letters have been a
tremendous help to me. I've learned a lot. Harriet

Sounds like a good idea. Give them time to eliminate the bugs.
I suggest you use Maxthon if you are going to stick with IE. It has most
of the benefits and none of the drawbacks of IE7, which still seems to be
only playing catchup. Maxthon browser uses IE6 or 7 as its main engine,
with an overlay of security and many user enhancements (such as tabbed
browsing, zooming, etc) so you get the best of both worlds. Its popup
stopper, in particular, is excellent. And it's free. The other popular
alternative of course is Firefox.

I understand Spybot will pick it up. The genuine file lives in
Windows/System32 folder, the false one will be in another location.
