I am still using Win98 as well. The 'open with' in the context menu
doesnt come up with ALL files. I dont know why, at least mine doesnt. I
found a nifty little program that takes care of that and much more called
'OpenExpert' from http://www.baxbex.com which I believe you would be
quite pleased. It gives you much more options thanthe Microsoft 'open
with'. And its free!1

I also use Total Commander for my file explorer rather than Windows
Explorer which also allows you to 'Associate with' on files + many, many
more tweaks and options!
http://www.ghisler.com ....FULLY functional shareware.... only has one
nag window at start up which just ask you to hit #1 through 3 and your
in! But fully worth the cost to take that little nag off.

BOTH programs have an easy learning curve...matter of fact you dont have
to really learn anything much new on OE, and TC is great for just using
as usual until you get to know all the bells and whistles.

As for MGI, I have thos on my cupter but dont care for it. I use
Infraview (which is also free)
http://www.irfanview.com which also incorporatesd into TC as a plug in!
Infraview (IMHO) is a much better program than MGI as well.
Supported file formats:
AIF, ANI/CUR, ASF, AU/SND, AVI, B3D, BMP/DIB, CAM (Casio JPG), CLP, DDS,
Dicom/ACR, DJVU, ECW, EMF/WMF, EPS, FlashPix (FPX), FSH, G3, GIF,
ICO/ICL/EXE/DLL, IFF/LBM, IMG (GEM), JPG2000, JPG, JPM, KDC, LDF, LWF,
MED,
MID/RMI, MNG/JNG, MOV, MP3, MPG, MrSID, NLM/NOL/NGG, OGG, PBM/PGM/PPM,
PCX/DCX,
PhotoCD, PNG, PSD, PSP, RAS/SUN, RAW, Real Audio (RA), RLE, SFF, SFW,
SGI/RGB,
SWF (Flash/Shockwave), TGA, TIF, TTF, TXT, WAD, WAV, WBMP, XBM, XPM,
CRW/CR2,
NEF, ORF, RAF, MRW, DCR, X3F, PEF, SRF DXF etc.+ much more.....

enjoy...
