My 2:
I did a fair bit of reading reviews of mobos, cpu's and HDD's before I built
my last rig and ended up with:

320W Icute 627SL case with 4,2,4 bays and one included case fan
Gigabyte 7VTXH+ mobo
AMD Athlon 1800+
512 Mb PC2100 DDRam
40Gb Maxtor 7200rpm HDD
(Still) running W98SE

According to Motherboard Monitor 5.1.0.4, the Athlon runs between 40c and
60c depending on room temperature. It's a comfortable temperature this
evening, I'm sitting here in my shirtsleeves, and the CPU is ticking over at
46c.

This unit runs extremely well, and I've since built 3 more for customers.

PS: To anyone with a fresh system - get GOBACK. You'll never regret it.
