Recently we bought a used Gateway Solo 5300 Laptop.  Then we went on EBAY to purchase a hard drive and a CD/Rom drive for this laptop.

The laptop recognizes the harddrive and we were able to format the hard drive, however we cannot get the laptop to boot from the hard drive nor get it to recognize the CD ROM.

Any suggestions?
