               I know you do not want to hear this, but as the veteran of an
NEC Ready 9625 (166p) I can tell you from hours of frustration that these
are among the most proprietary i've ever come across. After trying countless
modifications, I reverted it back to OEM specs and gave it to my kid.
There's some proprietary configuration utilities which seems to need to be
there, and the only place to get it is off the supplied recovery disk . I've
never been able to "crack" this machine. maybe your customer really wants a
new box  (tsk, tsk!) BTW... forget pci modems in this unit, you can usually
get a "Boca" or pretty similar to work(with a little luck!)
Maybe someone else out there in listland knows what I've never figured out!
