Thanks Peter.  I already had that download under way but wasn't sure just what I was downloading.  

Ok, then if xpsp1a_en_x86.exe is the deployable version, I assume that it's good for individual as well as networked deployments?  As usual, the M$ information is mysterious and open to interpretation.

One-at-a-time useage is all I'll want it for.  Actually, as far as I can see, the only difference between SP1 and SP1a is that 1a has modified java support.

Perhaps someone might comment on this.
