Ok, I have an adaptec 1505 scsi card in my machine and it has a jazz and
zip attached to it. Right now, the 1505 and the zip are terminated. I
want to add an external HD off my card for backup purposes. I know I need
to remove the termination from the 1505 and add a termination resistor to
the external harddrive.

My question is, does it matter if the external drive is on or off? I
guess I don't need to always have it turned on all the time, except when I
do a back up. So if it sits there terminated, but with out power, will
all be ok? The terminator is a passive resistor plug.

Thanks
Dan Ellis
