I followed your advice and went to the Control Panel, did everything
stated here. I did not see anything in the Properties of each drive at
all that there was/is even a DMA (word or initials, whether greyed out
or not).

In General, in all of the drives, it says that "This device is working
properly."

In Settings, in all HDDs, it indicated the brand of HDD, firmware
revisions, etc. and enabled in Options are all the same:
Disconnect and Sync data transfer. In my FDD, instead of Disconnect
enabled, it is Removable that is enabled and that is the only thing
different.

I have written this down in my letter so I will just copy and paste here
for convenience:

3.2 Western Digital HDD on Primary Controller (as Master) with 2.5
Quantum Siriocco HDD (as Slave)
5.1 Maxtor HDD on Secondary Controller (as Master) with HP CD-RW 7100i
(internal, as Slave)

Creative Labs IDE Controller - I connected my CD ROM in this one. - Int
10Intel 82371 AB PCI Bus Master IDE Controllers - Int. 14 and 15
Primary Bus Master IDE Controller - Int. 14; Parent Device: Intel 82371
AB Bus Master IDE ControllerSecondary Bus Master IDE Controller - Int
15; Parent Device: Intel 82371 AB Bus Master IDE Controller

Nope. All of them are reported to have no conflict at all and all HDD
are working properly, according to General Buttons. So I am really lost
..... any further thoughts?

I am not removing my original post here in this letter just in case
someone might want to take a look at my problems at all. Thanks Roxanne.
