Hello Harvey,

I'm excited about being able to respond to your post because this
list helped me out tremendously in the past (unbeknownst to them)
and I haven't made much of a contribution myself.
I recently put together my first PC on my own and did a LOT of
homework. I'm fairly computer literate, but there are people on the
list with tons more experience and knowledge, so I can only speak
from my own experience and homework.
To try to stick with basics for now, I chose the ABIT BX6
motherboard and a Pentium II 350. Quite a screamer compared to my
once fast 586 133! The reason for the ABIT BX6 was the fact for me,
it's jumperless! And plenty of room for future upgrading! A few
ISA slots, 4 PCI, AGP, room for 4 SDRAM chips.
Could go on and on because I'm excited about what I once was scared
to do and believe it or not, after ALL of the reading and re-reading
and familiarizing myself with everything and making sure everything
was in its proper place, all went well without a SINGLE problem!!
Good luck, go slow, re-read, re-examine, put it together and
enjoy....
