Hello all,
I have a quick question as to if any of you "Technical GURUs" have any
experience with AcerOpen motherboards. I specifically mean the APV5M. I
know the compliance for Year 2000 is ok, but I have some questions about
the BIOS. I realize some boards may ship with different BIOS chips, but
I'll ask anyway. It comes with an AMI BIOS (American Megatrends BIOS. I
know it supports 2.1 GIg dirves, currently what I have in my system, but
can it support higher gig drives? I tried installing an 8.4 but no dice.
I think I need a BIOS upgrade. Also E-z Drive had no effect on it
either. If any know of where to get some info or have experience with
this board, I would appreciate it. I have had no luck with the manual
and AOpen's web site only has the flash upgrade, but no specifics.

My Bios

AMI Rev. 2.6

Flash available is Rev. 2.7

TIA.
Derek Buchanan
