You could have several problems.  The plug attached to the PC could be
bad or your speakers could have a wire that is not making could contact.

Another place to check is in the Sounds and Multimedia icon or Sounds and
Audio Devices icon in Control Panel, (depending on your version of Windows).
Make sure it is set to at least Stereo, as it could currently be set to mono.
