The best solution is to use external storage box, that host HDDs, and
connect to computer by SCSI interface. There are such products that use IDE
drives instead SCSI to save on cost.

win2k can handle the task perfectly by itself, if you decided to do the low
cost way, however, it will be bit harder to maintain the system, if
something goes wrong. an external solution provides hot swap, which is much
better for long run (easy to setup as well). also, you don't have to worry
about heat problem.
