Hi, this might be worth thinking about. I had a similar problem once, which led me to believe I had a trojan somewhere on my system. I scanned and scanned, but nothing. I had applications opening up everywhere, my mouse flying about all over the screen as you have.
It turned out to be a faulty mouse. (It wasn't very old either). I changed it, and my problem was solved instantly.
