Ping,

I'm not sure you can replace the partition table, but there is a program
called "Lost & Found", produced by PowerQuest
which may be just what you're looking for. You can download a demo copy
from:
http://www.powerquest.com/lostandfound/index.html

The demo copy won't actually recover your files, but it will tell you if the
REAL version will be able to. It lists the files
found on the disk you specify and will let you know if it's possible to
recover them. No partition table is required! If you
determine that your files are salvageable, only then would you have to
purchase the registered version. You can
purchase it online, or if you prefer, it's available in many retail outlets.

Good luck,

Dennis

Hi all!

My C: drive was made disappear by the CIH 1.2 virus on 4/26.
Now it can not recognize the c: anymore. BIOS still functioning
and it can boot from floppy. When I tried to read the partition
table with FDISK.EXE option=4(display partition), it said "no
partition defined". is there any way to recover some files
from this harddisk?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
