If this happened on April 26th, last Monday, I would suspect the computer
has been hit with the CIH virus. Read all the posts during the last
few days with CIH in the subject line to PCBUILD. If you have deleted
them, you can read them in our archives at:
       http://nospin.com/pc/pcbuild.html

You can either replace the motherboard or send to the manufacturer for a
new BIOS chip. Then, partition the hard drive, (only the Primary drive seems
to be effected, the "C" drive), format and reload.

Normally, I would never give such advice, but I have seen too many of these
come into my shop this week to make any other recommendation....
