Yes, I have used everything. I have searched all processes on google. I have used process explorer, but I can't pinpoint one thing. It is always the program I am using that causes the problem. It seems that if I am running firefox, it uses high CPU. If I listen to music it uses high CPU. So I can't seem to eliminate anything. I have reduced all unnecessary startups under msconfig, and all of the usual steps that you take in this case. As I said though, it has become unbearable to use my pc.

I have however noticed one thing. It has gotten progressively worse since I installed .net framework. I was upgrading MSN which I frequently use to a new version, and it was required. I am not sure if that is a common problem or not. Also, about a week ago when it got worse, something had come up about svchost and startup. I use winpatrol also to monitor things, and I do recall that, however, I have checked and it does not appear to be the svc virus so many speak of.

Maybe it is just time for a new pc. I do not want it to get to that, as I do not have the money for a new laptop. Especially with college starting back up.
