Go to HP's web site under support. You'll find a section with
troubleshooting print problems. It should show you step-by-step how to clean
the three tabs on which lint and ink has built up. This will clean up the
whole mess.

Subject: Re: [PCBUILD] printer: lines through text

> Does it do that in every program you print from, or only in certain
program(s)? Does it do that if you print a test page? If it only prints
like that in say Word or Wordperfect, it is a software problem. If it
prints a good test page, it is not the printer. You should check at
www.hp.com and search their knowledge base on this printer for known
software conflicts or for this particular problem. You might try a Google
search also. This problem is hard to diagnose unless a lister has the same
printer and has had the same or a similar problem.
