The Epson Stylus 600 printer has a blocked ink jet. I don't know if this
is relevant, but if this design is supposed to be self-clearing, it could
be that the contact to that jet is OPEN (dirty) or the trace in the flexible
cable is broken - usually at one end. Pull the plug and check continuity.

Back in the "old" days, when chart pens had a little pot you put a squirt of
ink in, and a VERY fine metal tube that took the ink to the paper, they
could be cleaned by removing just the metal part and soaking in gently
boiling water for about 20 minutes. The boiling caused tiny bubbles to
pop in and out of the tube, cleaning it in much the same way a jeweler's
ultrasonic cleaner works (or much the same as a bubble-jet).

Check with your supplier. They may have suggestions - like a specific
gauge wire to clean the jet. Their safety data sheets should list the
major solvents in the ink - which should be about as safe as the ink with
the plastic used in the print head. As for yourself, take the
appropriate precautions as listed in the safety data sheets!

Unplug the printer. Soak a small piece of tissue in the solvent and
stick it to the jet. Replace before it dries out. Try to avoid drips,
especially if the solvent is water - put a cloth under it, etc. When the
tissue cones away clean, dry the area, power up, and try it.

Good luck!
