All the off the shelve PII I've worked on I find slower than my K6-250 too. I've
come to the conclusion the hard drive is the cause of the slowdown. If I recall
correctly it's got a Bigfoot in it. Not exactly the fastest gun in the West, it
may actually refuse to wake up from sleep mode, or freeze on you if you try to do
something before it's fully awake.
