Mary,

You are referring to the button in the network properties that says "File
and Print Sharing...". I am talking about the properties of the "File and
Print Sharing For Microsoft Networks" service in the components list.

And I understand your assesment with your peer-to-peer network. Typically
the problem surfaces when Windows 95 machines are involved, but not always.
If the home version of Windows (3.1, 95, 98, 98SE, and beyond) were as
stable as the business version (NT) you could probably isolate the problem
better. But, what I have found in looking at several networks with multiple
configurations is that nothing is certain with the 3.1,95,98,98SE desktops.
I have seen some that work without a hitch (one was over 140 nodes), and
some that require some wierd tweaking to make them happy with each other.

It's all smoke and mirrors sometimes... <:-)

Kyle
