Check all setting in BIOS, put the hhd on pri ide controller as master ide 0, go to another computer with internet access go to www.bootdisk.com and create a new boot disk for your os, get gwscan application from the gateway tech support website this app write all zeros to the drive and is now totally clean ready for formatting with fdisk on your boot disk, and that way you have true clean load of your os on the new drive. to use gwscan boot with the bootdisk first get a command prompt then put the gwscan disk and type gwscan.exe at the prompt and follow directions. that is my recommendation george at [log in to unmask]
