Kathleen,
The easiest and least expensive solution, IMO, is to purchase a thumb drive
(also called flash drive etc. for aprox. $20.00)
You can dump the files you want to move to this USB drive, then transfer to
another machine.
This assumes both machines use Win98 or later for USB capabilities.
A google search will find prices on any size drive you need.
Good luck,
Hal Seabolt

Subject: Re: [PCBUILD] transferring files

Hello all,

My mother just purchased a new Dell, and wants to remove some of the
documents from her OLD hard drive to her new.

We had purchased PC to PC (I think that's what it's called) but it won't
allow you to selectively copy documents.

What options do we have as far as removing some files from the old hard
drive to the new?

Thank you for your help,

Kathleen LaValley
