Depending on the model, you either have to (1) set a motherboard jumper to
disable the onboard video (usually J2, J10 or J15 -- check the manual at
the IBM website), or the Aptiva (some models) will automatically disable
the onboard video when it detects that a PCI video card is installed
(presumably, you tried this).
