It doesn't, it's all done internally. I'm not familiar with this
particular card but the Creative Encore connects with a loop cable to
your existing video card on the outside.

As far as I know you have the video cards that support DVD, software,
and the decoder cards, hardware. The hardware solution or decoder card
is better than the software, better performance. Software gets corrupted
<g>.

A loop cable, I've used the Creative Encore which has an external cable
(I imagine some might be internal) and all you do is connect the loop
cable, and the audio from the DVD-ROM to the decoder card and from the
decoder to the sound card.
