David,

Elizabeth hit on the issue, but if the cable is good, it could also be the
mechanical switch in the floppy that detects removal and insertion of a
floppy. I've seen this happen most often on floppy drives that are in the
case vertically. Sometimes it is only a dust clot in the switch.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Win2000 Problem reading floppies.

The first time each session that I use Windows Explorer to read a floppy
everything goes fine. However, when I insert a new floppy and try to read
it, it gives me the data from my old one. F5 doesn't work either. Only
rebooting helps. How can I solve the problem?

Thank you.
David Jonathan Justman.
