Parallel is much faster than serial transmission!

Good Evening Listers:

I'd like to transfer some files from one computer to another using Direct
Cable Connection (DCC) under Windows 98 SE. DCC offers the option of using
either a parallel or serial port connection for data transfer and, since
I've never done this before, my question is which file transfer method is
faster ??? Parallel or serial port ???

Thanks in advance for your help.
