Two weeks ago I installed a new Maxtor 120 to replace an IBM 34. Helpful people on this list recommended Norton Ghost, since the Maxtor Blast software refused to actually copy the files to the new drive (tried twice, 8 hours each). Ghost worked fine but changed the parition sizes, and my PowerQuest Partition Magic 8.01 refuses to run. Finally got the new drive partitioned the way I want it, and copied the data and program files. Of course, when I copy the IBM Primary C Drive to the New Maxtor, it goes to "O" drive, meaning that XP is looking for everything in C, not O, and won't run.

Question: Is there a way to safely change O to C, remove the old drive, and have the new Maxtor boot? I've looked all over the place and can't find anything.

Thanks,

Ed Nottingham
