     Probably the cheapest method is a serial or parallel connection. Serial
is good for longer lengths but is very slow. Parallel is faster (though
nowhere near as fast as real Ethernet NICs) but doesn't go very far.

     Yes, unless you have File and Printer sharing enabled neither machine
will report any other machines, or itself, in network neighbourhood. TTYL
