<<<< Hi
I am used to formatting my older Win98SE system but now wish do do the same to
my Win XP Home system. Is the process similar, is there anything in particular
that I need to be careful with? Any help or advice would be very welcome

since you have formatted with win 98SE as your o/s I am sure you are aware of the basic need to " back up" all your data. having said that I would suggest you browse the following microsoft KB article on the subject which is quite exhaustive and straight from the horses mouth so to speak.

HTH and good luck--- Venkat Viswanathan
