Hi Michael,

I did this with ~some~ success on individual programs. I had just
built a new computer and wanted to keep all of my VERY SPECIFIC
settings in my Bible software for my new PC that I had on my old.
This is what I did and it worked for me on this program and also for
a few others. I need to tell you, it didn't work for ALL programs I
tried this on!

First, I loaded the basic program on the new PC. Then I took the
hard drive from the old PC and made it the slave HD on the new PC.
I then copied the 'D' drive program over the 'C' drive program
allowing it to overwrite all files. Believe it or not, it worked.
After re-booting (probably not necessary?), I opened up my Bible
program in 'C' and it looked exactly like it did on the old PC.

I was told that all I had done in actuality was to write the old
.ini file over the new .ini file and that I didn't need to go
through all of the above. Well, I didn't know that and I'm still
not certain that I could have gone in and extracted ~every~ .ini
file in the program. This particular program is a 'library' and has
been built up over the past 2 1/2 years, so I had it just the way I
wanted it.

There were some programs that this didn't work on; I can't explain
why. Probably has something to do with the registry (?).

        Hope this helps.
