Hi,

In the future it may be more beneficial to give a little more
information, for us to help you better, as which OS you are running for
instance. One can not go wrong with information.

Have you tried making com1 and com2 not free? I have had occasions in
the past where
software, that was com port dependent would not work correctly if there
were com ports that were free, before the assigned port. That is, if I
wanted to do something on Com 5, I had to make sure com port 1-4 were
assigned.

Did you try nokia Customer support and ask about the USB to serial
adapters and if they worked with the software?

Just a thought or 2.

Thanks and have a Great Day!

Hello

I'm having a computer problem which is driving me nuts. I've installed a
USB to Serial Data Cable and although i've COM 1 and COM 2 free on my pc
(my internal modem is installed on COM 3) , even after multiple tries it
installs itself on COM 5! Under Device Manager it reads " USB to Serial
Port (COM 5) .Now when i run my Nokia Software program on COM 5
assigned, it says it cannot open COM 5 and at times i get a " COM 5 is
busy" signal.

Does anyone have an idea how to get around this?
