Topic: Identify manufacturer of CDROM drive - obtain drivers for unknown
CDROM drive

You can often track down a device's manufacturer by using it's FCC ID.
This number is somewhere on the device - either on a sticker or
silk-screened on the board. The Federal Communications Commission hosts a
web site that includes a database you can use to identify manufacturers.
Although it sometimes results in a dead end - I am able to identify the
manufacturer but no state-side or internet information is listed - I have
had some luck w/ this site in the past.
