Since you state that you don't have *any* pointer on the screen (not a
problem of the mouse not controlling a pointer) I would suspect
software. I've had this problem with a corrupted video driver before and a
reinstall of the driver (painfully having to re-learn and use keyboard for
navigation) fixed it. Also you may want to check the pointer chosen in the
Control Panel - Mouse applet to see if the cursor file is corrupt.

I have a Compaq Deskpro 4000 running Windows 95 and the Novell 3.2
client. When the user booted up the computer this morning, there was no
mouse pointer on the screen. I swapped the mouse with a different one
and rebooted the computer only to have the same result. Is this a
hardware issue with the Compaq or is it a software issue with
Windows95?
