Not sure if this will help - I got the same problem when I moved my monitor
(I use an older Matrox-PCI card), I tried connecting it using a long (about
6 feet) video cable - result was a lot of 'shadows'.

I re-positioned things & used the video cable that came with the monitor -
problem solved....
