Though it seems unlikely, first check to see if the missing directories have
somehow been hidden.

Go the directories in question, right click on their folders, select
properties from the drop-down list and you'll see three options under
attributes (Read-only, Archive and Hidden).  Generally none of these three
attribute boxes (including Hidden) should be checked here.  If perchance
they are, untick the boxes and you'll be back in business.

Subject: Programs in Start Menu not showing


I have a user with a strange problem.  When he clicks on Start -> Programs
he only gets one folder.  I checked and everything is still listed in
c:\windows\start menu\programs.  He is running Windows98.
