I was having major problems loading DMA bus mastering drivers until I
turned of DMA support for my CD ROM drives using the VIA DMA drivers setup
program.....once I did that everything loaded without a problem. My primary
channel has a Seagate Ultra DMA drive on it and the driver is installed and
functioning correctly.

My secondary channel has two Mode 3 CD ROMS , both TEAC as a master and a
slave.....one is a 6 speed and one is a 24 speed. I can only use them with
the 6 speed as a master and the 24 speed as a slave. Although my new FIC
2007 Bios will boot from a CD if properly configured ....I can not get my
setup to boot from a CD even though I have enabled it in the Bios.

Are there special CD ROM drives that use DMA.....how can you tell? Why
would the drivers even attempt to run with the CDs if the CDs aren't DMA
supported. Is anyone aware of any issues with Teac CD drives and bus
mastering. Is it a mistake to run the 6 with the 24 in this master slave
configuration.

Thanks
Mark
