This note from a wholesaler:

"There has been an issue recently with AMD RETAIL BOX processors wherein the
customer "forgets" to remove the film from the bottom of the heatsink which
in turn exposes the thermal heat transfer pad.  This is obviously a Bad
Thing(tm) and ruins the CPU."

Have you possibly done this??
