Note that my experience with Crucial has been all positive.

Their official "company line" is that to guarantee 100% motherboard
compatibility you need to purchase direct from them AND use their
online motherboard compatibility selector.
You can check numbers there, but they do not give ALL the numbers
that will eventually appear on all their sticks. There seem to be, or
(at least was) an additional four numbers on the end you do not see
"anywhere" except on the stick when it arrives.
Sometimes those "fine tuning" numbers make all the difference in the world...

I didn't buy directly from them once, and they still honored the warranty
with no problems, but things are cheaper now and they might be getting
a little less tolerant of people that may (or may not) get the sticks from BestBuy
or some on-line place where "one size fits all"...
