I did a search for "zdu" and had better results -- the above link refers to
a diagnostic program called Zdu that has a GUI (graphical user interface).
Do you recall downloading any diagnostic programs?

A search of my registry on my networked, XP Pro machine (SP2) turned up no
instances of Zdu.

I might advise you make a backup of your registry and then do a "search and
destroy" of all zdu instances within the registry. If after you have
deleted entries and rebooted, the computer is missing something or doesn't
run right, your backup of the registry can be used to restore you to
previous conditions.

hope this helps,
