Jim - Without becoming too technical and wasting bandwidth, these two web
sites explain what Error Correcting Code Ram (ECC Ram) is and how it
differs from non-ECC ram. In the older days, it simply meant the
differences between parity vs. non-parity ram chips. Check out Ram and
Parity Issues, http://www.cbproserv.com/ramparit.htm and HelpNet,
http://www.helpnet.com.au/hardware/ecc.html. Tom's Hardware Guide,
http://www.tomshardware.com is another invaluable website for further info.
HTH. :-)
