It is possible the DC Jack in the laptop is bad/damaged. This is a common
issue with laptops.
Try gently moving the plug in the laptop and see if the pc switches from
power to battery.

Depending on the model it can generally be repaired for about $150.00.

Making your computing experience pleasant and safe!

adapter on my laptop plugged in. It started to switch over to battery mode
on its own a couple of months ago. I've tried plugging the AC adapter into
different outlets, thinking I have a bad outlet and it happens no matter
what electrical outlet I use. I've unplugged the adapter from the computer
and plug back in and it repairs itself but it continues to it 2-3 times a
day. Any idea why this happens?
