I have run into this problem with many media formats. My personal experience
was found either in the bit rate or the hardware excelleration.When the mp3
was created the machine it was done on may have been quite slower thus
creating a difference in the way the codec see's the file.This also happens
when the systems speeds are reversed.This is a common complaint and
sometimes cureable by converting it back to a wave then re-ripping it on
your own machine.Sytem rescources plays an important part so yes make sure
you have them freed up in the background.
