I also had nasty problem with parallel port Zip drive in '95.
I found I had to connect the zip drive to LPT1 (on board, ECP),
connect the printer (Canon BJ10ex?) to LPT2 (ISA), and
upgrade the Zip drivers.
Have you tried Iomega's web site? They have some
wonderful troubleshooting doco.
